This Is What The Bears Should Have Done On 3rd and 40 Last Thursday

So Thursday night was a complete and total shit show, obviously.  Mitch, Nagy and the entire offensive staff were piss poor and they deserve all the shit they’re getting right now.  It’s a good thing they have access to me, WSD, because I’ve been on a bender since then and as they say, the best ideas are bred from alcoholism.

Anyways, you saw the 3rd and 40 or whatever the fuck it was.  It was actually the best drive Mitch put together all night but it was non stop flag after non stop flag.  Gross.  Disgusting.  They should be embarrassed with themselves.

But when it was 3rd and 40 I was thinking to myself “there isn’t a single play in the playbook for this situation.”  That is until right now because I’m giving Matt Nagy some free advice.  Hear me out:

3rd down, line up in 5 wide or whatever.  Mitch takes the snap and the offensive line lets the rushers through and Mitch times it up and kicks the ball before getting absolutely drilled.

BOOM.  Roughing the punter.  Automatic 1st down.  Nobody in the world could see that coming.  How would they?  Nobody punts on 3rd down.

Now before you crucify me just know that I mentioned this idea to PFT Commenter during our live stream Thursday and he was like “oh shit that’s actually a good idea”.  So that’s all the validation I really need because PFT Commenter is a football savant as we all know.  Sure, Steve Cheah is a total vagina and said it was an awful idea because of injury risk and Willie Colon didn’t really care for it either, but 1 of 3 people is a .333 batting average.  That’s putting me in the Hall of Fame.

None of these plays would have worked at all
